While the magic of the holidays' winds down, there are still sparks of it in the air.  January is a time of renewal, which is also a form of mystery and magic on its own. It is a time we shed off all the hardships of the previous year and step into a new mindset, perspective, and excitement for the new year. Memphis has two interesting ways you can catch glimpses of magic.

The Mesmerist

Modern-day magicians are filled with extravagance and grandeur, Jeffrey Day assumes the persona of magicians from 100 years ago.  On Saturday, January 19, 2019, from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Woodruff-Fontaine House Museum in Memphis, Jeffrey Day performs magic.  This magic harkens back to the illusions presented to audiences from over 100 years ago.  With all the fancy tricks and gadgets of modern-day aside, his magic will be sure to still impress you and manipulate your mind.  Join this spectacular event. Tickets are $30 and you must be 21 years old to attend.

2nd Annual Winter Festival of Lights

For its second time around, the 2nd Annual Winter Festival of Lights visits 409 S Main in Memphis.  On Saturday, February 9, 2019, from 6:30 PM to 10:30 PM this magical night gives a final burst of winter flare to the community of Memphis.  While tickets range from $60 (ticket for one) to $500 (table for 10 people), you can rest assured knowing that the money is spent helping those in need by serving many, many meals, providing housing, and provided part-time and full-time employment to women in need.
